June in the Garden

• Feed annuals and bedding plants regularly with Miracle-Gro, Fish Fertilizer or Smartcote 14-14-14 slow release fertilizer.
• Remove excess fruit on apple and peach trees leaving 3 or 4 fruits per cluster.
• Water well newly planted hedges, trees and shrubs.  Containers, hanging baskets and window boxes need almost daily watering in hot weather.
• Eliminate weeds.  Save problems later by cutting off morning glory and horsetail shoots below the ground as much you can.  Be on the lookout for insect and disease problems.
• Fresh stock of Rose bushes now in flower.  Check out the colours, fragrance and blooms you prefer.
